All in a moment

All in a moment…A nation is crumbled, brought to it’s knees ,as the world watches and waits to see one life rescued, strangers come from afar to lend their hand, oceans of tears cried for those we have never met,for those lost in the rubble, will they ever be found?

Each day we wait for a miracle of one found and we rejoice!!

All in a moment …..families are torn, sons are lost and children are Fatherless once again.

In this moment, we must know and believe that God still sits on His thrown, through our sorrow and grief, we must search for his hand, his hand that is covering every man , woman and child, his hand that is covering every life that has been lost, every heart that is broken and grieving, covering every tear that has been shed, covering an entire Nation in mourning .

We must believe that His hand is big enough……. that His hand is strong, His hand is gentle, that His hand is sovereign ….

Is. 60

A SMALL ONE A STRONG NATION………God’s promise to Haiti………………..

Thirsty

I am currently at our halfway point in training for my first marathon. I am inspired by the many women in our Haiti Women’s program, who wihtout a doubt are the most amazing women on the planet. These women could be described as incredibly strong, diligently hard workers, persevering, strong willed…to me they are just plain amazing!!! my passion was birthed from my own experience of being a teen Mom and the struggles I personally went through, it has grown into a compelling desire to see these women have the opportunity to have the best quality of life possible, coming alongside them , educating them, befriending them and simply loving them out of ,for many are seemingly hopelss situations, giving them hope and new life!
As I was running this past weekend, I was reminded of my time spent living in Haiti and the countless times i bought little bags (sache dlo) for the children on my street..2 goudes which is less than a penny , a small price to pay to see a smile on a face..Or watching the women in our program ,walk to class 6, 7, 8, months pergnant in the 90 degree plus heat, without water. Do we really know what it is to be thirsty? I thought I had a pretty good grip on it until Sat. when my water was locked in my car with my keys, I had 15 miles to run and no water, in my determination I set out thinking surely I would find water somewhere. about halfway done I found a stop i had been before wehere they had previously given me a cup of water, today it was .50 cents, with no money in hand , I walked away with this overwhelming feeling, tears began to form in my eyes, not because I was so thirsty, but immediiatly my thoughts went to all the street children in Haiti, the women in our pragram, who experience real thirst daily, water, it seems like a simple thing right? I really have never known real hunger or thirst as these precious ones experience daily, today I was reminded …the reason why I run, I run for those who can’t , in hopes that in some small way it will make a difference in their lives…..
